Yes, we are those people who start celebrating Christmas before Thanksgiving. Makenna is in HEAVEN with all the decorations up.
Giving the Christmas tree goodnight kisses.
She hugged it, too.
Makenna has come up with a variety of cute words lately. I can sense that I’m in that danger zone where I will forget to write them down, and before I know it they’ll be gone and forgotten. So, in order of cuteness:
“Cucumberger”: cucumber
“Juices Bockeseseses”: juice boxes
“Snowyman”: snowman
“Poopa”: pepper
She’s also putting together gigantically long sentences, like 8 or 9 words. It’s crazy to listen to her, b/c she speaks very properly. She does excellent with the in-between words (what are those called again?) like “in, on, over, at, is.” Sigh…where does time go…

Etiquette Lessons
November 9, 2007
Lesson #1: If you’re being photographed on the toilet, at least strike a feminine pose.
Lesson #2: Being able to balance a cup on your head will take you far in life.
I don’t think we run any risk of Makenna being a tomboy.
Case(s?) in point:
– This morning as we looked through the Toys ‘R Us Christmas catalog, she was ecstatic about everything “princess”, but she pointed at Spiderman with a scrunched up face and said, “Nope. Yucky.”
-All morning she begged me to go to “Tah-get” (Target) for “Shoes!” and “Clothes for Kenna!!”
-We attract quite a lot of attention when we walk through the aisles at Wal-Mart and she insists on wearing her ultra-glam hot pink rhinestone sunglasses.
-By far, her favorite activities are: trying on all her old shoes and modeling them, saying “Cute shoes!”, and piling on necklaces and bracelets while she pushes her baby around in the stroller.
Man, I love this girl! 🙂
Bonfire and Random Pics
November 5, 2007
This was before our little photo shoot this weekend. She was practicing with doggy.
Hugs and kisses
Hahaha…now don’t go all Britney Spears on me here…I think this picture is hilarious. Don’t worry, we’re just in front of our house, but she looks like she’s cruising down the freeway…
She was the BEST helper with unwrapping caramels for our caramel apples for the bonfire.
Our men have made fire!!
“So cold, so cooooozzzzzyyyyy!!!”
Pretty aunts (Laura, Katie, Kylie)
If you know our backyard, you know this is impressive. haha 🙂
Beautiful November Day
November 5, 2007
My sister-in-law Laura took some pictures for us this weekend, and I’ve picked a few to show you guys. I’m sorry to have to do it in slideshow format (not my favorite way), but I guess under a time constraint it’s better than nothing. 🙂 Oh, and the edge of the album on the slideshow is cut off, but I figured THAT was better than having the pictures be too small to see. 😉
Halloween Fun
November 1, 2007
Having an early morning chat with a teeny tiny frog (look hard, you’ll see him)
Ok, so we hadn’t planned on dressing her up for Halloween. No trick-or-treating for us, we just went to a funfest. But at the last second I decided to draw some whiskers on her face and call it a night. She LOVED it.
That’s a blue M&M in her hand, her treasure of the night. Yes, I’m still a mean mommy who doesn’t allow candy, haha
Does this picture remind you of anyone who was painfully, alarmingly shy as a child?
She finally braved the big slide and was hooked.
Telling me all about it.
She wanted to stare at herself in the mirror for a while before we washed off her kitty face.
🙂
